Joe Cook Celebrates Promotion to BSA Officer/Compliance

The Peoples Bank congratulates Joe Cook on his recent promotion to BSA Officer/Compliance! BSA officers are responsible for ensuring compliance with the regulations of the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act. Their role is to detect and prevent money laundering and other illicit financial activities.

Joe has been a part of the Peoples Bank team for more than 24 years, gaining all of his financial experience while working with us since August 1999. Throughout his career, Joe has held various positions ranging from a Supply Clerk to his latest position in Compliance. He says the most satisfying aspect of each of his roles has been the opportunities for problem-solving.

Out of all the memorable moments over the years, Joe says he most cherishes the warm welcomes and team-building activities at each of The People’s Bank locations he’s encountered. He particularly remembers playing stickball in the old warehouse when the team was done clearing it out. Joe also has some advice to lend to his fellow and future team members:

“Each new position came as a surprise to me, so believe me when I say, don’t be afraid to try something new!”
