Chevis C. Swetman - Chairman
Chevis C. Swetman has served as a director of the Company since 1984 and of the Bank since 1975. He has served as Chairman of the Company since 1994. Mr. Swetman is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and the Bank and has been employed with the Bank since 1971. He earned a Bachelor of Science and Finance degree and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. In addition to his role with the Company, Mr. Swetman has been recognized numerous times for his leadership in professional, civic and community organizations.
Liz Corso Joachim - Vice-Chairperson
Liz Corso Joachim has served as an independent director of the Bank since 1996 and Vice-Chairperson of the Bank in 2017. She attended Dominican College and is a graduate of Gulf Park College. Mrs. Joachim operated a successful retail business prior to assuming executive leadership of Frank P. Corso, Inc., a family-owned wholesale distribution and full line vending company headquartered in Biloxi, MS. She has held leadership positions in numerous professional, civic and charitable organizations on the national, state and local levels and has been honored by several organizations for her service.
Drew Allen has served as an independent director of the Company since 1996 and of the Bank since 1993. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Marketing from Mississippi State University. Mr. Allen is President of Allen Beverages, Inc., a beverage distributor headquartered in Gulfport, MS. He holds numerous leadership positions in professional, civic and charitable organizations on both a local and state level and has received regional and local recognition for his service.
Ron G. Barnes
Ron G. Barnes has served as an independent director of the Bank since 2018 and is President and Chief Executive Officer of Coast Electric Power Association. Coast Electric is headquartered in Hancock County, Mississippi and provides power to approximately 80,000 homes and businesses along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Mr. Barnes holds a B.S.B.A in Marketing Management from the University of Southern Mississippi and is a board member of Cooperative Energy and the Electric Cooperatives of Mississippi. Mr. Barnes is also actively engaged in his community serving as a present or past board member of various civic organizations including Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, Gulf Coast Community Foundation, United Way of South Mississippi, Public Relations Association of Mississippi and the Heritage United Methodist Church.
Padrick D. Dennis
Padrick Dennis joined Specialty Contractors and Associates, Inc. in 2010 and currently serves as Vice President of Construction and Operations. Mr. Dennis earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law, graduating Summa Cum Laude and also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (Politics) and Bachelor of Science degree (Accounting and Business Administration) from Washington & Lee University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Mr. Dennis is involved in several community organizations including Trinity United Methodist Church, the Mississippi Economic Councilís Board of Governors, Coast Young Professionals, Gulf Coast Carnival Association, Gulfport Gridiron Club and the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classicís Ambassador Club
A. Wes Fulmer
Wes Fulmer was named Executive Vice President of the Bank and the parent company in 2006 and Chief Banking Officer in 2018. He started his banking career with Gulf National Bank in Gulfport in 1985 after earning his bachelorís degree in business administration with an emphasis in banking and finance and his masterís degree in business administration from Mississippi State University. He has held leadership positions in professional, civic and community organizations and has received state and local recognition for outstanding leadership. Fulmer is a graduate of the Mississippi School of Banking, Graduate School of Banking at LSU, and the National Commercial Lending School.
Rex E. Kelly
Rex E. Kelly has served as an independent director of the Company since 2002 and of the Bank since 1996. Until his retirement in 2005, he was the Director of Corporate Communications of Mississippi Power Company, a subsidiary of The Southern Company, Gulfport, MS. Mr. Kelly earned his Bachelor of Science degree in American Studies from the University of Southern Mississippi and has held leadership positions in professional, civic and community organizations and has received national and regional recognition for outstanding leadership. He is currently a Senior Counselor with The Hawthorn Group, consulting in the area of strategic communications/corporate and public relations.
Dan Magruder has served as an independent director of the Company since 2000 and of the Bank since 1993 and has also served as Vice Chairman of the Company board since 2003. Mr. Magruder earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Vanderbilt University. During his service in the U.S. Navy, he attended the Navy Nuclear Power School, Nuclear Submarine Prototype School and Submarine School. Subsequently, Mr. Magruder assumed executive positions with several organizations before joining Rex Distributing Co., Inc., a beverage distributor headquartered in Gulfport, MS, as president in 1987. Mr. Magruder has provided leadership to a variety of professional, civic and charitable organizations.
Jeffrey H. OíKeefe
Jeffrey H. OíKeefe has served as an independent director of the Bank since 1986. During 2011, he was appointed to the Board of Directors to complete the unexpired term of the late Lyle M. Page. Mr. OíKeefe earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He has been with Bradford-OíKeefe Funeral Home, Inc. since 1970 and has served as its President and Chief Executive Officer since 1983. During his career, he has held leadership positions with a number of professional, community and civic organizations.
Paige R. Riley
Paige R. Riley has served as an independent director of the Bank since 2018 and is a life-long resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and owner of Hillyer House gallery. Hurricane Camille devastated the Mississippi Gulf Coast in August of 1969, and with a familyís desire to contribute to rebuilding the community they loved, Hillyer House was born in the spring of 1970. Through years of passion and leadership, Ms. Riley has grown Hillyer House into a nationally recognized award-winning gallery featuring exceptional works of art from over 400 local, regional and national artists. Ms. Riley attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College with a concentration in Management and Marketing. Additionally, Ms. Riley is a dedicated community leader serving as a board member with numerous community organizations including the Pass Christian Chamber of Commerce, Main Street Pass Christian, Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Walter Anderson Museum.
George J. Sliman, III
George Sliman is Director and President of SunStates Holdings, Inc., a privately-held real estate investment company. Mr. Slimanís responsibilities include financial reporting, risk management, information technology and special projects. In addition, Mr. Sliman is a general partner and managing member of several privately-held investment entities. A retired Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Sliman previously worked as a staff accountant in the audit and tax divisions of Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Company. Mr. Sliman graduated from Springhill College, Magna Cum Laude and earned a Masters of Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Slimanís community service includes serving on the Finance Committee of the School Advisory Council for St. Alphonsus Catholic Elementary School and previously served as a board member of the Walter Anderson Museum of Art.
A. Tanner Swetman
Tanner Swetman joined The Peoples Bank full time in 2005 and has held several diverse management positions in the bank and currently serves as Vice President for Corporate Affairs. Mr. Swetman has oversight responsibility for the Business Development, Investment, Branch Administration and Property departments. Mr. Swetman also serves as Chairman of the Asset Liability Committee and is a member of the Investment and Trust committees. Mr. Swetman holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Management from the University of Southern Mississippi. Mr. Swetman also completed the Mississippi School of Banking at the University of Mississippi, the Graduate School of Banking at Louisiana State University and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Executive Development Program. Mr. Swetman is actively engaged in numerous community organizations serving as a board member of Biloxi First, the Biloxi Yacht Club and the St. Patrick Alumni Association. Additionally, Mr. Swetman is a member of the Gulf Coast Sigma Chi Alumni Association, Gulf Coast Carnival Association, the Order of Mithras and a Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 211.
